I specialize in international dispute resolution, with extensive experience representing the Republic of Armenia in investor-State arbitrations under ICSID and other arbitration rules. I was also part of the team representing the Republic in inter-State cases before the ICJ and in inter-State arbitration proceedings. In addition, I have previously handled commercial arbitration, international mediation, and annulment proceedings. I regularly advise on cross-border transactions and represent clients in domestic litigation involving monetary recovery, damages, and subrogation.

Represented the Republic of Armenia before the International Court of Justice in the inter-State cases concerning the Application of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (Armenia v. Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan v. Armenia).

Represented the Republic of Armenia in inter-State arbitration proceedings under the Bern Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats and the Energy Charter Treaty.

Represented the Republic of Armenia before an ICSID Tribunal and Annulment Committee in an investor-State arbitration concerning a real estate dispute involving claims of approximately USD 15 million. The arbitration was concluded in the State’s favor; the award was partially annulled, and enforcement proceedings are currently pending.

Represented the Republic of Armenia before an ICSID Tribunal and Annulment Committee in an investor-State arbitration concerning infrastructure construction, with claims amounting to approximately USD 331 million. Both the arbitration and annulment proceedings concluded in favor of the State, resulting in the costs award being secured and transferred to the State.

Represented the Republic of Armenia before an ICSID Tribunal in an investor-State arbitration concerning a waste management dispute.

Represented the Republic of Armenia in a mining investor-State dispute before a Tribunal constituted under the Permanent Court of Arbitration.

Represented the Republic of Armenia in an ad-hoc commercial arbitration case under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules, as well as in a separate proceeding within a foreign jurisdiction, successfully negotiated a settlement that was effectively implemented.

Represented the Republic of Armenia in an ad-hoc commercial arbitration case under the SIAC Arbitration Rules.

Represented the Republic of Armenia in an international mediation conducted under the JAMS Mediation Rules.

Represented the Republic of Armenia in UNCITRAL Working Group III.

Provided comprehensive legal support to both profit and non-profit organizations within the Republic of Armenia, including advising on transnational transactions and share-related agreements.

Rendered legal representation before Armenian courts in proceedings concerning monetary recovery, claims for damages, and subrogation.
